Mufasa: The Lion King is a 2024 American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins
from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film
is photorealistically animated and serves as both a prequel and sequel to The Lion King
(2019), the remake of the 1994 animated film of the same name. Seth Rogen, Billy
Eichner, Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and John Kani reprise their roles from
the remake; new cast members include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone,
Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, and Blue Ivy
Carter in her feature film debut.


It’s nearly been three years since The Old Guard premiered on Netflix. Production wrapped
in late 2022, and the movie is expected on Netflix in 2024. Here’s everything we know about
The Old Guard 2, also called The Old Guard Chapter Two: Force Multiplied. Headed up by
Charlize Theron, The Old Guard is the superhero movie where she stars as Andy, a warrior
who is immortal and has been influencing history for centuries. It’s based on the comic
book series by Greg Rucka. Having been in priority development for quite some time, we’ve

When was The Old Guard 2 greenlit at Netflix? We first reported that Netflix was eying a
sequel back in January 2021 although confirmation wouldn’t officially come until August
that year (although Theron officially confirmed the movie in June). As mentioned, The
Old Guard topped the Netflix charts in 2020 and had originally been envisioned as a
trilogy, with the director of the first movie saying “We had always set out to make a
sequel, and our creative development around it was always to set it up in a way where
we could do it. If it was a huge failure, I’m sure Netflix would’ve been like, “Ah, not doing
that.” So it was really lovely that our fan base embraced it and loved it. Now, the
pressure is on. We want do something that can be standalone, respect the history
of it, but dare to be bold.”


Theron confirmed by talking about the sequel to Variety’s Marc Malkin, saying that the
script had already been completed and that Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli would
be returning, too. Netflix themselves would only go on to announce the sequel via their
official socials on August 26th: Alongside the announcement of the sequel included
confirmation that several key faces from the first movie would be returning, including:
Charlize Theron as Andy. Kiki Layne as Nile. Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker. Luca
Marinelli as Nicky. Marwan Kenzari as Yusuf Alkaysani Joe. Veronica Ngo as Quynh.
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley.


Ahead of filming starting, Theron spoke to THR and revealed she’d be donning a new
hairstyle for the sequel, which will be dark just as before but this time more like a mullet.
When asked about the hairstyle she said. On June 10th, 2022, we were among the first to
announce that Netflix had cast two big named stars for the sequel. We’re referring to Uma
Karuna Thurman, who will play a yet-to-be-announced role. The Oscar-nominated actress
is best known for Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, and Batman & Robin. She also starred in Netflix’s
Chambers. The second cast member added was Henry Golding, best known for Crazy
Rich Asians, The Gentlemen, and Netflix’s movie, Persuasion.


The Old Guard is one of Netflix’s hits of the 2020 summer. It capitalized on big-budget
action film for the small screen that didn’t have to compete with summer popcorn flicks
on the big screen. It took a while to confirm that a sequel would happen, but fortunately,
the Charlize Theron movie did do well enough to justify making The Old Guard. Here’s what
we know about Netflix’s sequel plans. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, The
Old Guard stars Charlize Theron as Andromache of Scythia, an ancient immortal leading
a small group of other unkillables as they onboard a new recruit. This is all while avoiding
getting wrapped up in a big pharma play for their mysterious and presumably invaluable
DNA. It’s a fast-paced, heavy action film with a high body count that also has plenty of
heart around the issues surrounding what happens when you can effectively live forever.


The Old Guard was the website’s top streaming option, marking something as close as we
got to a blockbuster during the 2020 summer season considering the theaters had gone
kaput in the pandemic crisis. One has to feel that Netflix’s $70 million budget for the film
was realized through its overall popularity and positive reception. And at the risk of
getting spoiler-filled here, let’s just say that The Old Guard is primed for The Old Guard 2
or even multiple movies around these characters. The movie wraps succinctly enough,
but a pre-credits scene leaves the door wide open for multiple movies. Considering the
Old Guard is a Mission Impossible-styled group with a particular set of skills, mostly
centered on killing bad guys en masse and able to take tons of damage, this could
be a franchise we see for quite some time.


So sure, nearly as soon as the movie hit screens, it was right to start thinking about The
Old Guard 2. For starters, it’s a fantastic (and rare) move for the comic book creator (in this
case Greg Rucka) to also pen the full script. But that’s the case with The Old Guard with
Rucka handling those duties and any screenplays going forward. It means there’s a full
grasp of the material with, presumably, a very clear vision around the characters and
story arcs. Charlize Theron has already been talking about what she wants Old Guard 2
to be about. On Late Night she had this to say. “Yeah with another female character which
I’m really excited about. The character of Quynh is kind of teased in this. She’s Andy’s
kind of right hand person. She was, the two of them, were the first. There’s obviously a
relationship there that we didn’t really explore in this film. So, I’m excited if we get the
chance to make another one, to explore that, because then we’re just adding another
female into the mix, which I think will make it really interesting.“

new location but added the New York International Air Show will be held in Orange County,

airshow," he said "The stuff you're reading in the news isn't 100 percent accurate. The
locations and the times and some of that stuff may be different." Neuhaus believes fewer
people will be allowed to attend and it will most likely be in a drive-in theater-like setting.
"The numbers would be reduced from the past. We're trying to make sure we can put
that together on a safe way for you to go to it and almost like a drive-in theater type
thing. So you wouldn't be interacting with people," Neuhaus said.

Force Academy graduates for choosing “service over self” but said they now have the
“great privilege” of leading in a world that will only get more confusing in the years to
come. His appearance was punctuated by a stumble onstage after handing out diplomas
to graduates. “Graduates, you made a noble choice to lead a life of service,” Biden told
more than 900 cadets in remarks on the sun-splashed field at Falcon Stadium in Colorado.
“Now you also shoulder a great privilege and a mighty responsibility. Leadership, yeah
leadership.” “In the years ahead, your airmen and guardians are going to look to you for
guidance and inspiration because the world is going to get more confusing,” he added.
“They’ll put their trust in you. You, in turn, must strive to always be worthy of their
confidence.” Near the end of the ceremony, the 80-year-old president turned to walk
across the stage and tripped. He was helped up by an Air Force officer as well as two
